Leuven, Belgium | Boston, US - May 20, 2022. Ahead of the economic mission to the United States of America, from June 4 to June 12 led by Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid, an official visit took place on Tuesday, May 17th at the headquarters of icometrix in Leuven.
Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid was received by the Mayor of the city of Leuven, Mr. Mohamed Ridouani, and Mr. Wim Van Hecke, Managing Director of icometrix. The ceremony was attended by members of the Board, Ms. Katrin Geyskens, and baron André Oosterlinck.

The visit followed last week's economic mission to the United Kingdom, where the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industries were among the highlights. The economic mission to the United States of America, in which icometrix will participate, will call Atlanta, New York and Boston and is the largest Belgian mission ever to the United States of America. The sectors that will receive special attention in the program include Health, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, and Artificial Intelligence. Sectors that are close to icometrix's heart.
icometrix had the privilege and pleasure of explaining the icobrain product portfolio during the official visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid. This made clear how icometrix is making a difference for people with chronic brain disorders, and how this also means concrete added value for health professionals and investors. Thereafter, it was explained how icometrix fits into the ecosystem of tech start-ups/spin-offs within a geographical community. On the one hand, there is the link with the universities and academic research institutes, and on the other hand, there is the link with the city of Leuven, which also presents itself worldwide as a hotspot of new technologies.
During the second part of the visit, results of a brain scan were explained by Mr. Dirk Smeets, Chief Technology Officer, and icobrain Customer Success Manager, Ms. Femke Podevyn. Together with these results and the analysis made by icometrix using a concrete case study, the impact of the software was clarified. Then Product Managers Lars Costers and Ms. Annabel Descamps, explained the icompanion app and platform so that Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid could experience the use of this app herself. The icompanion platform, together with the app of the same name, helps people with MS and their care team to monitor clinical symptoms and treatments efficiently and objectively.

"It was a great honor to host Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium at our icometrix offices. We were all so impressed by her knowledge of the health system, her vision of digital technology to transform care, and her general passion and friendliness. We very much look forward to joining Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium on the US economic mission in June, visiting Atlanta, New York, and Boston" concluded Wim Van Hecke, Managing Director of icometrix.
